Axiom

In mathematics, strict logical rules (or assertions) that cannot be proved, are called axioms.

 


Explanation

They deal with facts that are so obvious that there is no doubt about there correctness. Because it is a purely theoretical approach we will not discuss it further. There are also postulates, that are assertions, which are sometimes violently disputed.

It is a very interesting matter for scientists, but nothing for ordinary people.
